  1. Josh,

I like the name “wildfire PRETENSE logging.” Good one! Thanks for the work you do, it’s very important.

Anti-environmentalists have hijacked the environmental movement with their phony BS. Changing technologies won’t solve anything, and will likely cause even more problems. Harming the natural environment, such as mining lithium, in order to supposedly stop anthropogenic global warming/climate change is totally counterproductive, and in almost all cases is just a ruse in order to make money for harmful industries, such as the auto industry. Auto-makers like General Motors are involved in lithium mine that we’re fighting now. When I was an Earth First! campaigner in the 1980s, I faced the same problems with Milquetoast environmentalists like Sierra Club. In my view, you either love and support the Earth and all native life on it or you don’t. Would these so-called environmentalists be OK with killing just some people instead of none? As to Republicans v. Democrats, they both suck on the environment. Obama delisted wolves for political reasons and bragged that he drilled and exported more oil than any other president. Biden is driving a road through a wilderness area in Alaska. Etc. Republicans are generally more openly hostile to the natural environment, but as Jerry Brown said when he wasn’t running for office, the only difference between Democrats and Republicans is the pace of destruction.

When a really bad anti-environmentalist like Trump takes power, we need to take even stronger positions. Taking weaker ones just makes things worse.

What we need is reduced human population and reduced human consumption, the latter including living a lot more naturally. Anything less isn’t good enough and won’t provide any substantially positive environmental and ecological changes.
